Everfuel has endorsed the Danish Government’s plan to build and operate hydrogen pipeline infrastructure.

The announcement is a political acknowledgement of green hydrogen as an essential component for the decarbonisation of the European energy system.

The plan includes an agreement between the Government and supporting political parties that provides a roadmap for the Danish transmission system operator, Energinet, and the national distribution operator, Evida, when developing future hydrogen pipeline infrastructure.

Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO and Founder of Everfuel, said, “Today’s agreement needs to be followed up by more details on pipeline connection points and tariffs, as well as the required coordination with hydrogen and renewable energy developers.

“Critical and competitive hydrogen infrastructure is vital for Denmark to fully deliver on our unique potential. At Everfuel, we will be ready to supply large volumes of hydrogen into the pipeline network to domestic and international end-users.”

Last year, the company revealed it was set to receive DKK 246.3m ($35.2m) of funding from the Danish Government, under the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) programme, for its 300MW green hydrogen project.

Planned to be used to develop the second phase of its HySynergy project in Frederica, Denmark, Everfuel expects to establish a 300MW electrolyser and Power-to-X plant facility adjacent to a refinery.
