Schneider Electric has agreed to support Hy Stor Energy’s Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub (MCHH) with its management and automation solutions.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Schneider Electric will provide automation and safety services to the project, as it aims to deliver clean energy to the electrolysers.
Schneider Electric will now be the main automation and electrical contractor, and partner for digital energy management and automation solutions across all of Hy Stor’s operations.
The hub is expected to produce 110 million kilogrammes of hydrogen annually and store more than 70kg in underground salt caverns. The first phase is expected to enter commercial service next year, despite being one of the hubs to miss out on the US’ $7bn Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub awards.

Laura Luce, CEO and Founder of Hy Stor, claimed the partnership will offer “innovation to enhance the efficiency, safety and reliability throughout the entirety of Hy Stor Energy’s renewable hydrogen and long duration storage platform.”
Heather Cykoski, Senior Vice-President, Industrial and Process Automation North America at Schneider Electric, added, “Projects like the MCHH will help usher in the transition from fossil fuels to more sustainable forms of energy.
“Our collaboration will help Hy Stor optimise their facility, from engineering and operation through energy management and storage.”
