Preventing the main factors behind electrolyser degradation is essential for extending system lifespan and reducing total cost of ownership (TCO), an H2 View webinar has heard.
James Cropper’s Chief Technology Officer, Dr. David Hodgson, told viewers that by preventing electrochemical corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement, catalyst poisoning, and water quality issues, the company’s proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers can achieve their expected 10-year lifespan while maintaining high efficiency.
Cipher Neutron’s President and CEO, Gurjant Randhawa, reiterated this point. He said, “There are certain key things that affect the levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH), and one of the major reasons is the cost of electricity.
