HysetCo has ordered 150 Peugeot e-Expert hydrogen light utility vehicles from Stellantis, set to be deployed and put into circulation from this month (February) and onwards.

It is said to be the first order on this scale, according to the companies, and is expected to more than double HysetCo’s fleet of hydrogen vehicles in 2024.

The order will include associated services, such as upkeep, maintenance and repair, insurance, relay vehicles, administrative formalities, and training; and will be specifically designed for the transport of people, logistics, or other professional uses.

Xavier Peugeot, Director of the Stellantis Pro One Business Unit, said, “We are the first manufacturer in the world to market a range of hydrogen electric vehicles covering two segments.

“This involves supporting our professional customers like HysetCo in their energy transition by offering them a complementary solution to electricity adapted to their uses.”

Loïc Voisin, HysetCo President, added, “This major order is a new important step in the development of our fleet of hydrogen vehicles, which we intend to at least double in 2024.

It also allows us to continue the deployment of our unique hydrogen mobility offer to facilitate the transition.”

Stellantis leads the European, light utility vehicle market with more than a 40% share of the electric market and is the “first” automobile developer in the world to market a range running on hydrogen.

The offer is intended for intensive use and will be deployed by the Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, Vauxhall, and Fiat Professional brands. The order now covers mid-sized vans and large volume vans too.

Stellantis announced last month (January) that it will expand its offering of hydrogen fuel cell vans, with the production of medium and large-sized vehicles. They will be produced in Hordain, France, and Gliwice, Poland, including an internal combustion engine (ICE), battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and range extender variants.
