Researchers have identified a contributing factor to short lifetime in perovskite solar cells with silver electrodes. Currently, the most common electrode material in perovskite solar cells is gold, which is extremely expensive. The low-cost alternative to gold is silver, around 65 times cheaper.
A team led by researchers has created a super-strong yet light structural metal with extremely high specific strength and modulus, or stiffness-to-weight ratio. To create the super-strong but lightweight metal, the team found a new way to disperse and stabilize nanoparticles in molten metals.
