SnapNrack and CertainTeed have introduced a solar panel and solar mounting option to the market that does not void the asphalt shingle limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Under the partnership, a solar system installed with CertainTeed asphalt shingles, SnapNrack mounts and CertainTeed Solstice Panels will qualify for CertainTeed’s Umbrella Coverage, provided the installation is performed by a CertainTeed Solar credentialed contractor.

“One of the most common questions people ask when deciding to go solar is, ‘will this void my roof warranty?’ With this new program from CertainTeed, homeowners can confidently know that the answer to that question is a resounding ‘no’ when their system is installed with SnapNrack mounting hardware,“ said Andrew Wickham, director of products & engineering at SnapNrack.

Typically, installers or homeowners must to rely on three different manufacturers’ warranties for everything on the roof: the roofing material, the solar mounting system and the solar panels. Through this partnership, customers will have a single warranty process as the entire rooftop solar system and the solar installation workmanship are warrantied under one company. Both solar and CertainTeed asphalt shingles are backed by CertainTeed.

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with SnapNrack,” said Phoebe Kwan, GM of solar solutions at Saint-Gobain. ”Our partnership with SnapNrack enables us to offer state-of-the-art solar, racking and roofing solutions along with complete peace of mind to homeowners so they can go solar without worrying about voiding their roof warranty.”
